Family-Link ™ is an exciting service offered by Serenity Care for Seniors Inc. to support and benefit each and every senior and

alternative family care ™ home.

Through advanced telecommunications technology, our seniors, their family/friends, fostering families, associates and community partners have access to Video-Phones. Through Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), the Video-Phone works like a regular phone, but has a screen which enables users to see as well as hear friends and family. Friends/families can see the person on the other end of the call (as long as they also have a Video-Phone).

“When people get on a Video-Phone, they’re able to see the people they’re talking with, whether that person is across the street, across the province, across Canada, or in another Country.”

Can you imagine being able to see friends/family (parents, children, daughters, grandchildren, grandparents, nieces/nephews, etc) as you speak with them on the phone!

This is a great 'tool' to help families have visual contact with their loved ones who are living in

one of our family homes, to have a level of contact that they would not receive anywhere else!

Continuum of Care

Serenity Care for Seniors Inc. is sensitive to the individual needs of seniors and has developed a 'continuum of care' which gives seniors more options to their short and long-term care needs.

After the initial contact is made, we are able to identify the services a senior will require. We are able to:

> Support seniors in their home as they prepare to leave their home (Transitional Care Services);

> Help seniors 'transition' to one of our alternative family care homes;

> Provide 'residence' in one of our alternative family care homes which meets
the needs of each senior.

Moving can be a challenging time for anyone. Our services are flexible and cost-effective in giving each senior the peace of mind they need as they move to one of our alternative family care homes.

As well, each Alternative Family Care Homes has access to a local medical centre (hospital and/or walk-in clinic), a physician, a pharmacist, and a RN/RPN.
